Sarah J. Maas’ A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES is headed to the big screen!
Constantin Film, the production company behind the Resident Evil franchise, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and its revamp TV show Shadowhunters, are diving into a popular YA fantasy world.
The company just bought the rights to the bestseller A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, which follows a 19-year-old through a world of faeries, creatures, and old magic threatened by an ancient curse.
When Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, she finds herself punished and held captive by Tamlin, a faerie who used to rule the land and is subject to a dark curse. As you can guess, the story is loosely based on Beauty and the Beast.
According to Deadline, Constantin has tapped Rachel Hirons to scribe, but has not attached anyone else to the project quite yet.
Sarah J. Maas’ other series, Throne of Glass, is currently in pre-production for television.
