THIRTEEN REASONS WHY will get an early spring debut on Netflix!
After lots of talk and hype, Netflix has finally set a date for the 13 Reasons Why series, based off the popular book by Jay Asher: March 31, 2017!
The series focuses on Clay (Dylan Minnette,) a high school student who receives a mysterious set of tapes sent by his recently deceased classmate and former crush Hannah (Katherine Langford) before her death. In the tapes, Hannah recounts the things in her life that led her to suicide, including Clay himself. Through the experience, Clay learns about his affect on others and the depth of emotion that others feel.
Selena Gomez, who served as an executive producer on the project, exclusively released the show’s teaser alongside the announcement on Instagram.
We must say the teaser seems a little poppy for a story that’s ultimately about teen bullying and suicide, but one teaser doesn’t necessarily set the tone for the whole show.
Either way, we’ll definitely be giving this series a shot as the book is life-changing. Will you?
