4 Things You May Not Know About GAME OF THRONES

Ever since the show launched in 2011, Game of Thrones has remained an iconic television series watched by millions of fans around the world. Still, no matter how much of a fan you are there may still be a few pieces of information you are yet to pick up on. So, here are four facts you may not know about George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones. Spoilers ahead!

Many of The Languages Spoken in Game of Thrones Had to Be Created From Scratch

While George R.R. Martin’s novels are infinitely rich and immersive, one thing that was never really explored within the text was how the languages his characters spoke worked or even sounded. So, when the show was in production, the creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss employed linguist Daivd Peterson to create a multitude of languages from scratch including Dothraki, which has featured prominently in the show since the very first episode. There are currently over 2,000 words in the Dothraki language as well as a full grammatical system.

There’s a Game of Thrones Slot Game

Unfortunately for fans of the series who enjoy gaming, there hasn’t been a new video game based on the series since 2014, and the only other option appears to be the online RPG. That is, unless you know about this little secret: there a Game of Thrones slot. Created by Microgaming, this 15 payline slot is packed full of scatters and wilds as well as symbols based on the great houses of Westeros, which you can read about further on this review. The game is available on a number of online casino operators, comparisons for which can be found in the previous link.

No Characters Appear In Every Episode

With such a huge cast, it’s no surprise that the writers have been unable to feature a character in every single episode of Game of Thrones. Instead, characters appear in the episodes where their storylines are of importance, while at other times we are simply left to wonder what they are up to. All that said, Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark both appeared in every episode until they were killed because life is cruel but fair. Also, Cersei Lanister, Joffrey Lannister and Tyrion Lannister are the only characters to appear in every episode in a single season.

Benioff and Weiss Already Know How They’ll End The Show

Though fans may already have their own theories about how the show will progress over the next couple of seasons, it was recently revealed that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have already mapped out the conclusion to their popular show according to this article. They’ve even discussed the outcomes of our favourite characters with the creator, George R.R. Martin, who is still in the process of finishing the next book installment Winds Of Winter. Since the book series probably won’t come to an end anytime soon, we’re relieved that fans of the TV show will get to see the conclusion of this epic tale in the near future.

We love Game of Thrones and the more we learn about how much goes into creating such an immense show the more we love it. What makes it even better is we can get involved as an audience: we can learn Dothraki or those of us who like to play casino games can have a go on the slot. There are plenty of other little known facts about this incredible show out there, so why not let us know some in the comments below?
