Absent Luke Skywalker ‘No Accident’ According to J.J. Abrams

After three trailers, and a myriad of posters for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have not seen/heard much of Luke Skywalker who was the main character of the original trilogy except for a voice over and a possible glimpse in the second trailer that was released during Star Wars Celebration earlier in the year.

Many people have been speculating as to why Luke has not been a large part of marketing for the film, especially since he is such an iconic figure in the franchise. There have been multiple theories about what has happened to Luke that would make J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm/Disney want to keep a secret such as Luke having turned to the Dark Side and being the master of the film’s primary villain Kylo Ren, or even being the Darth Vader-worshiper. Whatever the reason is, J.J. Abrams has reassured fans that poor old Luke has not been forgotten. Apparently there is a solid reason for why Luke has not been seen in the trailers or on the posters. You can check out the interview he did with the Associated Press earlier this week below:

So let this be a reassurance for all you Luke Skywalker fans out there. He has not been forgotten, and we will see him when The Force Awakens releases December 18th.
