Here’s some interesting information that just came out. Actress Mae Whitman, who currently plays Amber Holt in the TV series Parenthood and was also in the feature film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, will be the narrator on a new edition of Cassie Clare‘s first book of The Mortal Instruments series, City of Bones. Simon and Schuster made this announcement today:

This is an interesting development since the final book of the series, City of Heavenly Fire, is due to come out in just over a month from now. One wonders if they plan on using Mae to narrate the rest of the series in a whole new audiobook set for The Mortal Instruments.
Mae Whitman not only has been on TV and in feature films, but she has also done voice work for several animated series, including voicing the character Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Tinker Bell in several Tinker Bell-centric animated movies, and most recently as April O’Neal in the latest version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
