Powers Boothe joins AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. as Gideon Malick!
Veteran actor Powers Boothe has joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a “menacing” new role!
Boothe, best known for roles in 24, Deadwood, and Nashville, will play Gideon Malick. The character was previously seen as a member of the World Security Council in The Avengers and is simply described as “a notorious man whose loyalties remain a mystery”.
In an official statement released via Marvel.com, company television head Jeph Loeb had this to say about the casting choice:
“Gideon is incredibly menacing and in him we have a character that even the stone-cold Grant Ward would fear. Only someone of Powers’ caliber could deliver the type of ominous and powerful performance we needed.”
Powers Boothe debuts as Gideon Malick in tomorrow’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, ‘Devils You Know’, on ABC.
