Who is Lucy in the world of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. announced some new Season 4 casting and the character seems like she could be much bigger than her description lets on!

Lilli Birdsell has been tapped to play a character named Lucy. Very little is said of the character expect that she has a “haunting quality” and a violent streak. Of course, that could mean many different things on a show with fantastical elements like this one. Is Lucy a vengeful ghost or a hallucination? Is she an Inhuman who channels her anger into a ghostly power?

We can’t help but wonder if the character has a relationship to Ghost Rider, the demonically-touched character coming next season who will be played by Gabriel Luna!

Lilli Birdsell previously starred in The Walking Dead: Torn Apart webisodes as Hannah, along with several one-episode guest appearances on popular television shows.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on September 20, 2016.
