There’s trouble in paradise in the ALEX & ELIZA sequel!
Melissa de la Cruz explored the early days of Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler’s love story in Alex & Eliza: A Love Story, which hit shelves back in April. However, the story focused heavily on the characters’ class discrepancies and insecurities leading up to their marriage and didn’t include any of the more troublesome details of their relationship.
It seems de la Cruz is remedying that lack of conflict in an upcoming sequel, Love and War: An Alex & Eliza Story!
The new book will focus on the couple as the Revolutionary War comes to a close, leaving them to navigate the muddy waters of disagreements between states, adjusting to marriage, jealousy, and more. They’ll be tested more than ever, but can they make it through?
Happy Ever After released the first look at the book’s cover and description, which we’ve included below.
“They weren’t perfect, but they tried really hard, and their romance epitomizes American values, and reminds us of what our nation stands for,” Melissa de la Cruz told the publication.
The thrilling romance of young Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler continues in the sizzling sequel to the New York Times bestselling Alex & Eliza: A Love Story.
1780. Albany, New York.

Alex & Eliza’s relationship is tested further by lingering jealousies and family drama. It turns out the battles are just beginning in the follow-up to Melissa de la Cruz’s New York Times bestselling hit Alex & Eliza: A Love Story.
