Amanda Abbington Talks Benedict Cumberbatch And Martin Freeman Bromance on SHERLOCK Set

Amanda Abbington, Martin Freeman‘s real life partner, who will be appearing on Sherlock in Season/Series 3, spoke with Radio Times about the working relationship between her partner with Sherlock co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, and only had good things to say about it:

“Working with Martin on Sherlock is really quite inspiring, ’cause he’s so good at his job. And he and Ben [Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holmes] have this fantastic chemistry. Coming into Sherlock you have to up your game, ’cause they’re so good together.”

It should be no surprise, though, considering that the chemistry between these two actors really shows clearly on screen as their banter clearly flows as it should, and I don’t know if that can be something easily shown if the two didn’t work well together.  (However, that’s not to say that they aren’t professionals and could pull it off if things were different between them.)

Now, in regards to Sherlock’s comeback, after the finale of Series 2, we don’t know how that’s possible just yet, but Amanda had this to say about it:

“Sherlock is alive – that’s not an apparition. It’d be very odd if we saw inside Watson’s head and it was a picture of himself walking away from Sherlock’s grave in order to cut back to an image of Sherlock.”

We still have several months more to find out what exactly is going on, and she continued with this:

“It’s a cracking first episode. I can’t wait for people to see it. Really exciting. There’s a lot to answer.”

This is certainly keeping us on our toes!
