THE HATE U GIVE has found its star in activist and The Hunger Games actress Amandla Stenberg.
Amandla Stenberg will be starring in the adaptation of The Hate U Give, Angela Thomas’s YA novel inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. Fox 2000 won a bidding war for the film rights, and George Tillman Jr will be directing; his recent film credits include The Longest Ride and Faster.
Amandla was originally known for her role as Rue in The Hunger Games, but in recent years has garnered traction in the Black Lives Matter movement and in her role as an activist.
