American Horror Story’s Angela Bassett will be taking on a matriarchal role in the 2018 Marvel movie BLACK PANTHER.
Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, London Has Fallen) has signed on for a role in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. She’ll be playing Ramonda, mother of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) aka Black Panther.
What we know of Bassett’s character is from what the Marvel comics have given us, which is that Ramonda is actually T’Challa’s stepmother, whose biological mother died after giving birth to T’Challa. It is also discovered that Ramonda was not a runaway, but a kidnap victim.

We don’t know how significant her role in the movie will be, but considering her level of talent, it should be memorable.
