THE FANDOM (not to be confused with our website) is coming to TV!

Anna Day‘s fans-turned-characters adventure The Fandom is headed to television in a first look deal for The Golden Compass producer Ileen Maisel. Thanks to our website name, we’re equal parts pleased and mildly confused!

The Fandom focuses around a girl name Violet, who is a very active part of a fandom for the fictional YA dystopian series The Gallows Dance. After a wild accident at Comic-Con, Violet and her friends find themselves trapped in the world of The Gallows Dance— and when they accidentally kill the story’s protagonist, Violet must fulfill that key role in order to survive. The book is due to hit shelves on April 24, 2018.

Maisel is developing the project with Fox 21 Television, whose president Bert Salke praised the producer, adding “She also has fantastic taste in material and her identification of The Fandom is a great example of that.”
