Movie Adaptations We’re Looking Forward to Watching in 2018

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Based on The Death Cure, the third book of The Maze Runner series by James Dashner
Release Date: January 26th
Cast to include: Dylan O’ Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Rosa Salazar, Ki Hong Lee, Patricia Clarkson

Plot: In the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.

Our thoughts: Fans finally get to see the conclusion to The Maze Runner trilogy, which started with The Maze Runner in 2014. Although the second film wasn’t what many of the book readers felt to be a faithful adaptation of the written work, we’re still looking forward to completing the series and with that, to see how they plan to finish the movie, including what twists director Wes Ball has in store. We’d also like to commend Ball for directing all three films of the series, which is something that had yet to be done with a multi-movie YA adaptation.
