Are You There, God? It’s Me Margaret Official Trailer is out

If you’re a fan of the classic Judy Blume books, you’ve probably been waiting a long time for this, and maybe you’re already out of your teens, but that’s what’s great about Blume’s stories. They’re not only timeless, they’re relatable, despite the story being a period piece.

But Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret is definitely special. It’s one of those stories that takes you back to those days when things were awkward and you were unsure of yourself. It makes you cry, it makes you laugh, it makes you realize how much we all experience challenges, in whatever form they may be, whether it be with religious beliefs, body acceptance, or just plain racism, or all of the above.

The movie stars Abby Ryder Fortson (Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp) as the titular character, Margaret, with Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Mean Girls) as her mother Barbara Simon, and Kathy Bates (Titanic, Misery) as her grandmother Sylvia.

When her family moves from the city to the suburbs, 11-year-old Margaret navigates new friends, feelings, and the beginning of adolescence.

Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret opens in theaters April 28, 2023.
