ARROW Adds STARGATE, THE WALKING DEAD Actresses

Talia Al Ghul and a new Star City detective join ARROW Season 5!

Arrow just made two big casting announcements, one of which could have major implications on the show moving forward.

After years of story involving her half-sister Nyssa (Katrina Law), Talia Al Ghul will finally join the show in the form of Stargate SG-1‘s Lexa Doig. Tough, clever, and a bit wicked, Talia is described as “worldly and cultured, an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” In the comics, Nyssa and Talia sometimes work together but have a torturous history that makes them enemies.

With so much of Talia’s backstory tied up in Batman’s history, many are speculating as to whether or not The Caped Crusader will be introduced on the show. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told THR in 2015 that DC likely wouldn’t allow Batman on the show with a movie version and a young TV Bruce Wayne already in production, but things could change.

Doig is joined by Juliana Harkavy, who will play the original role of Detective Tina Boland, according to Variety. The character hails from Central City and isn’t too happy about Star City’s many vigilantes, especially that Oliver and his team are back to killing their foes. Harkavy is best known for a small role as Alisha, Tara’s girlfriend and a member of Martinez’s team on Season 4 of The Walking Dead.

Doig will join the show beginning in episode 10, with Harkavy following sometime in the tail end of the season.

Arrow is currently on Wednesdays on The CW.
