Meet Batman’s Cousin And The Team In Quirky POWERLESS Promos

Meet Batman’s cousin and learn the differences between birds and planes in new POWERLESS previews!

Exciting new details behind the DC comedy Powerless are unraveling with three new promos. The show, which aims to have a little self-deprecating fun with the superhero genre, is giving us a better look at the characters at Wayne Security, including one very special relation!

It turns out that Alan Tudyk‘s kooky boss character doesn’t just work at a Wayne business, he’s part of the family!

If the concept seems far-fetched, you should know that Vanderveer Wayne is the much younger distant cousin of Bruce Wayne introduced in the comics in 1962. His appearance is short-lived, but the arrogant rich teen was a fencing champion and gymnast who seriously admired Batman, not knowing that the Caped Crusader was his cousin. As for where he and his parents were when Bruce was orphaned? Not a clue!

Another promo shows us a little more of the rest of the stressed-out but cheery team, including Vanessa Hudgens as Emily, Danny Pudi as Teddy, and Ron Funches as Ron.

A third promo focuses on Emily’s naiveté, showing the newbie watching a couple of superheroes battle from a balcony while the rest of the gang stands back and making fun of her “bird or plane” speculation.

Powerless premieres on February 2, 2017.

Emily Locke lands her dream job as Director of Research and Development for Wayne Security in Charm City, home to super heroes and villains and citizens fed up with the collateral damage of their constant fighting. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her aspirations far exceed those of her new boss and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
