BEAUTY AND THE BEAST clip and featurette show important sides of Belle and The Beast!
Belle’s adventurous inventor spirit is on display on two new looks at Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast!
The Beast (Dan Stevens) didn’t get himself and all of his house servants cursed because he’s a pleasant man, but he’ll have to turn on the charm if he wants to befriend Belle in a new Beauty and the Beast clip. We see Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), and Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson) try to talk The Beast through a polite dinner invitation, but a quick peek on the other side of the door shows that Belle is really not up for it.
You’ll notice that Belle is a little less “Woe is me” and actually taking action in the scene, which was a very intentional move to make the character more than a helpless, pretty girl. Emma Watson, director Bill Condon, and the cast are talking about the slight but mighty changes to the character that will reshape the tale this time around.
Beauty and the Beast hits theaters on March 17, 2017.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
