Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Briefly About DOCTOR STRANGE Role

While at the British Independent Film Awards, Benedict Cumberbatch, who was nominated as Best Actor for his role in the movie Imitation Game, got a chance to speak only very briefly about getting the title role of Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

He stated that he was “excited, really excited,” as one should be when offered a role of that magnitude and with a studio that’s been making unprecedented¬†strides creating a superhero mega-franchise in feature films. ¬†Obviously, he couldn’t talk much about it, but that “it’s a thrilling gig to get, and I just can’t wait.”

The movie will be directed by Scott Derrickson on a screenplay by John Spaihts.   It follows story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Doctor Strange, part of Marvel’s Phase 3 collection, is scheduled to be out in theaters on November 4, 2016.
