While at the British Independent Film Awards, Benedict Cumberbatch, who was nominated as Best Actor for his role in the movie Imitation Game, got a chance to speak only very briefly about getting the title role of Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

He stated that he was “excited, really excited,” as one should be when offered a role of that magnitude and with a studio that’s been making unprecedented strides creating a superhero mega-franchise in feature films.  Obviously, he couldn’t talk much about it, but that “it’s a thrilling gig to get, and I just can’t wait.”

We’re right there with you, Benny!

The movie will be directed by Scott Derrickson on a screenplay by John Spaihts.   It follows story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Doctor Strange, part of Marvel’s Phase 3 collection, is scheduled to be out in theaters on November 4, 2016.
