According to sources, Benicio Del Toro has been offered the villain role for Episode VIII
According to Deadline, sources have confirmed that actor/director Benicio Del Toro has been offered the villain role for the Star Wars Episode VIII! Whether he has accepted the offer, we don’t know yet. We also don’t know any details of the new villain yet, but maybe we’ll get more of a hint after the role has been accepted. Then again, Episode VII has yet to come out in theaters, so we may not hear much it until well after The Force Awakens is released into theaters.
In The Force Awakens, we have three villains: Dohmnall Gleeson plays General Hux, Gwendolyn Christie plays Captain Phasma, and Adam Driver plays Kylo Ren. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams and will be released in theaters this year on December 18, 2015.
Star Wars Episode VIII will be directed by Rian Johnson and is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 26, 2017 for a Memorial Day weekend release.
