With about six weeks to go before the film’s big release, it feels like we’ve been anticipating the realistic CGI take on The Lion King for ages.
Despite previous trailers and teasers, the film still hasn’t shown off all of its superstar voice cast quite yet, but we’re seeing a little more thanks to a new teaser!
The Lion King gives audiences their first taste of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala in the latest “Come Home” TV spot, in which Simba’s fierce female counterpart tells him to return to Pride Rock and take his rightful place as king.
The whole preview is filled with chilling and dramatic voice-over and dark scenes… until the very end when Timon and Pumba come in for the laughs. Maybe we’re spoiled, but we think every advertisement for this movie should end with a comedic bit from these two!
Of course, there’s one major character we haven’t heard speak yet: Simba, voiced by Donald Glover. Will we have to wait until the movie’s release to hear him?!
The Lion King hits theaters on July 19, 2019.
