Beyoncé Drops THE LION KING Single “Spirit”

THE LION KING will feature a bit of “Spirit” thanks to the pop superstar voicing Nala!

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter isn’t just voicing Nala in Disney’s upcoming realistic CGI take on animated classic The Lion King— She’s also producing, curating, and performing original music inspired by the movie!

The actress/singer released the single “Spirit” this morning, which will be featured in the film during an “emotional” moment for Nala. Listen via the YouTube video at the top of the page or download/stream the song here.

According to THR, “Spirit” is also the first single off The Lion King: The Gift, a compilation album produced and curated by Beyoncé, inspired by The Lion King, featuring global artists performing music “steeped in the sounds of Africa.”

The Lion King: The Gift drops the same day as the movie: Next Friday, July 19, 2019.
