Roald Dahl’s Big Friendly Giant comes to life in new movie trailer!
A new trailer for Disney’s Steven Spielberg-directed adaptation of The BFG is really delving into the cinematic magic in the film by giving fans their first look at The Big Friendly Giant himself!
In a previous trailer, we saw very little of the title character during his first interaction with the main character, Sophie. Now we’re seeing the Big Friendly Giant and the Giant Country up close.
The movie follows 10-year-old orphan Sophie (named after author Roald Dahl’s granddaughter) portrayed by newcomer Ruby Barnhill, who comes across a Big Friendly Giant– The BFG— played by Mark Rylance. He takes Sophie to Giant Country where he teaches the timid girl about dreams and magic, allowing them to form an incredible friendship. But not all of the giants in Giant Country are friendly. Most want to feast on human flesh! To stop them, Sophie and the giant head to London to warn Queen Elizabeth about the impending giant problem about to befall England.
The BFG hits theaters on July 1, 2016.
