Truly Madly Famously, Rebecca Serle’s sequel to Famous in Love, is an emotional rollercoaster that needs to be boarded!

unnamed

The book picks up after the events of Famous in Love. Paige Townsen was a normal girl from Portland, Oregon who was cast in a movie adaptation of a popular book, Locked. The movie has come out and is a huge hit! Paige becomes an overnight sensation and is flung into the Hollywood spotlight. As she does press for the movie, attends awards shows, gets ready to film the sequel, and try to navigate the Hollywood life Paige is still torn between her boyfriend and co-star Rainer Devon and her other co-star Jordan Wilder.

Truly Madly Famously

Life imitates art as just like in Locked with August drawn to both Noah and Ed, Paige has feelings for both guys playing her love interests. Rainer is so sweet and he protects Paige from the drawbacks of fame. He is trying to deal with the fallout from his father’s scandal and Paige wants to be there for him. Jordan is still a mystery at times, he has never been comfortable in the spotlight but Paige can’t help but be drawn to him.

If you’re not a fan of love triangles this book might not be the right one for you. Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of love triangles myself. And with any good love triangle, there’s not really a clear choice. I don’t like the feeling of having my heart pulled in opposite directions, and that was the case in this book. Rainer and Jordan are both amazing guys, you can’t help but root for both of them. I felt like Paige flip flopped between guys too much and at times that could be frustrating.

There are some new characters introduced in this book. Alexis Gibson, a beautiful British former model, was cast as Paige’s sister in the sequel. She’s possible competition for Jordan’s heart, but I loved Alexis because she’s a good friend to Paige. Britney Drake is another new character. She is Rainer’s ex who was mentioned in Famous in Love but we first meet in Truly Madly Famously. If you couldn’t tell already she may be causing some trouble between Rainer and Paige. Another character introduced in this book is Alfonso, the man directing the sequel.

I thought Truly Madly Famously was an engaging book worth the read. It’s a well-known fantasy to be discovered and become famous while having two boys fall hopelessly in love with you. This book also give you a look behind the scenes of Hollywood life and shows the pitfalls of fame. I really felt Paige’s pain throughout the book and my heart ached for all the characters. Some twists were even thrown in that really surprised me. I definitely recommend checking it out!
