The Examiner posted that Veronica’s third and final book to the Divergent series will be released next fall. Yes, folks, that’s over a year away.
Here’s what the author had to say about it:
I know that’s over a year away, and that seems like forever. The reason it’s so distant is pretty simple: I need more time to write and edit and polish it, so that when you get it, it’s the best book 3 I could possibly make it. The last thing I want is to feel like the last book in the trilogy needed just a little more time, and I’m sure you feel the same way, even if internally you are saying “OMG WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US, CRUEL AUTHOR?!”
While I can whine about how long it’s going to be before I get to read more about one of my favorite more-recent literary couples, I can’t complain about the author wanting to make sure the story is the way she wants it to be and not feel rushed about how it all ends (I can give you an example of what I mean, but I’d rather not say here.)
I’m sure you’re wondering what on earth you’re going to do for the next 500 or so days until the book comes out, but I’m sure you’ll find a way to survive.
Thanks to The Examiner and for Veronica’s Blog for keeping us up to date!
