Bryan Singer: X-MEN / FANTASTIC FOUR Team-Up Is Being Discussed

X-MEN / FANTASTIC FOUR crossover team-up may be hitting theaters in years to come.

X-Men director Bryan Singer says the X-Men may soon be colliding with Marvel’s first family in an epic team-up adventure.

While promoting X-Men: Days Of Future Past – The Rogue Cut over at Yahoo! Movies, Singer said that Fox executives are discussing possibilities for an X-Men / Fantastic Four collaboration:

“Those ideas are in play. That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”

As for how the two will come together, Singer was only willing to give a bare bones description:

“It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Of course, the director also mentions that a crossover film is contingent on the success of the Fantastic Four franchise reboot, which hits theaters on August 7, 2015.

Both franchise currently belong to FOX, an acquisition bemoaned by many a Marvel fanboy in recent years. Many believe that Marvel killed the Fantastic Four comics in response to FOX refusing the sell film rights to Disney, the owner of all other Marvel properties.
