Agent Peggy Carter may be Marvel’s first leading lady, but nobody’s forgetting about Captain America anytime soon.

As if talking about it with Howard Stark and the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) wasn’t enough, Peggy Cater will be receiving constant reminders of Steve Rogers aka Captain America thanks to a running gag on the show that Marvel just revealed!

In the spirit of the 1940s, the show will feature a radio program called “The Captain America Adventure Hour” that recalls The First Avenger’s battles against the Nazis in the comically hokey fashion that only old-time radio shows could pull off. It comes complete with a Peggy stand-in, Betty Carver.

Execute Producer Michele Fazekas said the show stands as more than a reminder of the past:

“It’s the bane of Peggy’s existence because you have the Peggy character on the show, Betty Carver, and she’s played by this actress who does a soft Marilyn Monroe voice and she’s always in jeopardy. If someone has a radio on, you’ll sometimes hear it, and it’s like, ‘Oh my God, can you please turn that off?’ It’s just fun and a great little window into that time period.”

KROQ Kevin and Bean morning show host Ralph Garman stars as “The Captain America Adventure Hour” host of the fake program.

AGENT CARTER premieres tomorrow, January 6th, at 8pm on ABC.
