As illustrated by Cassandra Jean and based on notes by Cassandra Clare, this City of Heavenly Fire strip shows the Blackthorns leaving Idris for Los Angeles, but not before a short visit and some reassurance from Clary and Jace!
Jean created the strip based on Clare’s personal notes, as the author never actually wrote at the scene.
