Cassandra Clare Releases LORD OF SHADOWS Snippet

Author Cassandra Clare has released another sneak peek at LORD OF SHADOWS!

Cassandra Clare posted a new snippet from the highly anticipated Lord of Shadows on her Instagram. The new post comes quite soon after another snippet was released earlier this month to celebrate her 800,000 follower milestone.

Lord of Shadows will be the second book in The Dark Artifices series. The sneak peek was posted along with some of aegisdea‘s beautiful art featuring Kieran and Mark.

“I have always needed you, Kieran,” Mark said. “I have needed you to live. I’ve always needed you so much, I never had a chance to think about whether we were good for each other or not.” Kieran sat up. “That is honest,” he said, finally. “I cannot fault you there.”

This book will supposedly pick up about a week after where Lady Midnight left off. Don’t forget to check out our exclusive interview with Cassandra here! Below is the description of Lady Midnight for those of you who haven’t read it:

It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.

Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions .

Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago―has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind―and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
