Channing Tatum’s X-Men Character “Gambit” Getting Full Spinoff

Gambit

Marvel fans can add another comic-book character to their list to watch. Deadline reports that the X-Men character “Gambit” is moving forward with a spinoff that will star Channing Tatum as the protagonist.

Robocop scribe Josh Zetumer will write the screenplay, which will be based on the story penned by legendary Marvel Comics writer Chris Claremont, who with Jim Lee, created the card-savvy character for Marvel in 1990.

“Gambit” first materialized in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009. For those who aren’t too familiar with the comic book character here’s a quick description of him:

The character, which also goes by the name Remy LeBeau, has the ability to charge matter with volatile kinetic energy, causing the object in question to explosively release its charge on impact.

Or his abilities. I’m sure this movie will get great attention. If not by Marvel fans by Tatum’s fans. Keep a look out for more news.
