Farbranch gets its leader with new CHAOS WALKING casting!

The Chaos Walking movie, based on Patrick Ness‘ popular YA trilogy of the same name, has found a resistance leader in Broadway favorite and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo.

The movie takes place in a world where disease has recently “wiped out” the female population and all remaining animals– human or not– can hear each others’ thoughts through a connection called Noise. Tom Holland will star in the film as Todd, a teen traveling with his dog when he stumbles across the impossible– A young woman named Viola played by Daisy Ridley.

According to THR, Cynthia Erivo will portray Hildy, the leader of a peaceful community called Farbranch, one of the few places that stands up against Mads Mikkelsen‘s villainous Mayor Prentiss. As Todd and Viola search for safety and answers, Hildy becomes one of their best allies.

Chaos Walking is currently filming in Montreal, and stunt lover Tom Holland is already feeling the pain on set:

The movie is due to hit theaters on March 1, 2019.
