Charlie Plummer Joins Adaptation of Aaron Starmer’s SPONTANEOUS

SPONTANEOUS finds its male lead for a twisted, zany adventure!

Charlie Plummer, who recently had his breakout role as John Paul Getty III in Ridley Scott‘s All The Money In The World, is headed to an explosive YA adaptation.

According to Variety, Plummer joining the movie adaptation of Aaron Starmer‘s Spontaneous alongside Katherine Langford, who was cast in the lead role last month.

Spontaneous is a rather quirky story in which high school seniors in a New Jersey suburb start spontaneously combusting. Langford stars as Mara Carlyle, one of those seniors who’s either waiting impending doom while preparing for graduation with her similarly anxious friends, all while their small town goes wild trying to suss out the true cause of this explosive new trend.

Variety doesn’t specify who Charlie Plummer will play, but since he will reportedly “star opposite” Langford, we assume he’ll play Mara’s love interest, Dylan, with whom she finally gets the guts to strike up a relationship after the other teens around her turn into exploding meat sacks.

Spontaneous doesn’t have a release date quite yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
