Earlier this week the Tottori Sand Dune Museum in Japan revealed it newest sculpture: a 11.15 foot tall sand sculpture featuring some of our favorite The Force Awakens characters.
Created by artist Katsuhiko Chaen, who is the producer of the sand museum in the small city of Tottori, crafted the sculpture using 160 tons of sand by blasting and carving. The sculpture features C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8 and in the background features TIE fighters, the Millennium Falcon and more.
Based on what we can see in the photos, the sculptures are insanely detailed. I bet in person they’re breath taking! I only wish I could see them in action.
The sculpture will stand until the end of December to celebrate the release of the film on December 18.
