“Everything Wrong With POCAHONTAS” goes over some of the finer points Disney missed about early American history!

It’s almost Thanksgiving– the day when Americans gather ’round to celebrate the first meal between Native Americans and the Pilgrims. Of course, that event isn’t nearly as charming as it sounds when you take history into account. In the spirit of deconstructing that glazed-over history, CinemaSins has a brilliant take on Disney’s Pocahontas!

Besides pointing out that Pocahontas and John Smith’s story isn’t nearly as romantic in real life(and probably a tall tale from a guy with quite the ego,) the YouTube channel also dives into Disney faux pas like Pocahontas being a magnet for friendly wildlife, John’s Smith’s questionably British accent, and the possibility that this whole movie is one big acid trip.
