Check out a clip from Pixar’s newest animated short, Piper!
Pixar’s animated short films are always heartwarming to watch. This scene proves how adorable they can be. The clip shows Piper, a baby sandpiper, trying to find food on its own for the first time.
Piper director, Alan Barillaro has said in an interview with EW that the short was inspired by seeing birds run in fear from the ocean, then return to the water to try and get food.
“It’s always fun to show a world we’re familiar with but from a different perspective. We’ve all been to the beach, but have we ever viewed water from just an inch off the sand? That could be very fearful from a bird’s perspective.”
Piper will be shown in front of Finding Dory, which opens in theaters June 17, 2016.
