Arsenal will be back to suiting up regularly on ARROW!

Well, now we know why Thea left to hunt down the remaining Lazarus Pits instead of leaving to be with Roy. Colton Haynes is returning to Arrow!

Roy Harper aka Arsenal was introduced as a series regular in season two of the hit CW show and stayed on regularly through season three. However, actor Colton Haynes only guest starred in season four and six, and didn’t appear in season five at all.

When Thea (Willa Holland) departed the show in the March 29th episode (though the writers have been slowly wilting her story line for a couple seasons,) the show seemed to be edging toward Speedy skipping town to be with Roy. However, that changed in the 11th hour and this seems to be why. Still, Roy and Thea have chemistry and a will-they-or-won’t-they relationship that will likely crop up again via guest appearances.

“While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular, and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us,” the show’s executive producers said in a joint press release.

Arrow Season 7 was just announced last week, so the details of Roy’s return remain completely up in the air.

Arrow Season 6 is currently airing on Thursdays on The CW.
