Ben Affleck BATMAN solo film is happening and the star is set to direct!
Just after the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Ben Affleck’s agent Patrick Whitesell dropped a big surprise: Ben was working on a standalone Batman script with the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns. Yesterday at CinemaCon, Warner Bros studio head Kevin Tsujihara gave us an even bigger confirmation when he confirmed that the project is definitely in development!
There are no details on what this version of the Caped Crusader’s story will include, but Whitesell called it “a really cool [Batman] idea”.
After Tsujihara’s announcement, another studio executive confirmed with IGN that Affleck will also direct the film:
Warner Bros. spokesperson has confirmed to me that Affleck will indeed direct the standalone Batman movie

The studio did not confirm the film’s release date, but it does have two mystery dates on its DC Comics release schedule: October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. One of these dates is believed to be for the Batman standalone project while the other is widely believed to be for a sequel to Suicide Squad.
The only person who seems to be keeping mum on the project is Ben Affleck himself, who rarely comments on his work on social media. Still, the actor/director has quite the film-making rapport with titles like Argo, The Town, and Gone Baby Gone under his belt, which gives us some high hopes for the new Batman film!
