Cover Reveal of THE FATE OF TEN, Book Six of the LORIEN LEGACIES Series

Pittacus Lore has revealed the book cover of The Fate of Ten, the sixth book in the Lorien Legacies series! And all of us fans are gnawing our nails to the nub to find out what’s in store for the survivors of the Garde.

Here’s what Pittacus had to say to MTV about it:

MTV News: What should readers expect in “The Fate of Ten”? Do we need to steel ourselves for action? Or (gulp) devastation?

Pittacus Lore: The action is relentless as the Mogadorians invade Earth. Readers should steel themselves for the epic battle for the future of their planet. The Garde will be pushed to their limits and beyond. It will be up to readers and the people of Earth to fight back against the Mogs. Only with your help will our cause be successful.

MTV News: How about the cover? Does it hold any hints about where the action is headed?

Pittacus Lore: Look closely as the cover clues readers to one of the critical settings for the book and where important parts of the final story will take place.

MTV News: Is there anything else we should know as the end of the Lorien Legacies series draws near?

Pittacus Lore: The ending will bring a wide-range of emotions to the readers and fans of Lorien. There will be great moments of triumph and devastating moments of despair. But the Garde resistance will not stop. It will continue until Setrakus Ra and the Mogadorian aggressors are defeated.

The Fate of Ten cover

Now, as much as I loved The Revenge of Seven, it unfortunately didn’t answer any questions or put any positive spin for the Garde by the end, but I’m hoping that we’ll finally get some of the answers in this book before we get to the final book of the series, which will likely be in 2016. But c’mon, Pittacus, give us something good for the Garde! They deserve it!

For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun.

John is on the front lines of the fight in New York City. And just as the odds seem stacked against him, his best friend, a human, inexplicably develops a Legacy—and Sam may not be the only one. While the pair try to track down Five and Nine amidst the chaos, they encounter another teen who can wield abilities that were once only meant for the Garde. Whether she is a friend or a foe, however, is yet to be seen.

Meanwhile, Six, Marina, and Adam are trapped in Mexico. They fought their way into the Sanctuary and were able to awaken the power hidden within, but their preceding battle has left them without any way to reach the others. The Mogs are returning in full-force and it will take a miracle to escape. The Garde are stretched thin, fighting this war on many fronts. The only chance they have is to take out the Mogadorian leader once and for all—but his fate is now irrevocably tied with Ella’s. They can’t destroy one without the other. But if the Garde can’t find another way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Loric: annihilation.

The Fate of Ten is scheduled for publication September 1, 2015.
