Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy first two covers reveals puzzle pieces
We’ve heard about the Shadowhunter Academy, the school where young nephilim go to train to become the excellent fighters that kill demons. Now, we finally get to read about what goes on in there through the eyes of Simon Lewis, a recently ascended former mundane.
Just like with The Bane Chronicles, Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy is a collection of short stories based on the Shadowhunter world created by Cassandra Clare in her books The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. Unlike the previous collection of shorts, not all of the tales are actually going to be from Simon’s point-of-view, but will bring about some stories about students who attended the Shadowhunter Academy, like that of the treasonous group of young shadowhunters that Valentine Morgenstern had put together. That story took place before Simon was even born, thus the reason for the current title, instead of it being The Lewis Chronicles.
EW has now released the first two covers of from Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, and I think you’ll be able to figure out the theme for it. Much like how The Bane Chronicles was revealed, each book cover will be a piece of the puzzle that, when completed, reveals the full image of the collection. A nice way to put the series together.

Welcome to the Shadowhunter Academy
After living as a mundane and a vampire, Simon never thought he would become a Shadowhunter, but today he begins his training at Shadowhunter Academy. Simon Lewis has been many things. A mundane. His memories of adventures with Clary, Isabelle, and the rest of the New York Shadowhunters were erased by a demon, and now Simon is eager to reclaim that part of himself. The Lost Herondale
Simon learns about the worst thing a Shadowhunter can do: desert their comrades. In the early 19th century, Tobias Herondale abdandoned his fellow Shadowhunters in the heat of battle and left them to die. His life was forfeit, but Tobias never returned, and the Clave claimed his wife’s life in exchange for Tobias’s. Simon and his fellow students are shocked to learn of this brutality, especially when it is revealed the woman was pregnant. But what if the child survived…could there be a lost Herondale line out in the world today?
Welcome to the Shadowhunter Academy will be released on Tuesday, February 17th. The Lost Herondale will be released on Tuesday, March 17th.
