The CW has decided to move Supernatural from it’s Tuesday spot back to Wednesday nights, after Arrow. The midseason new series iZombie will take over the Tuesday night spot after The Flash.
I guess if you’re going to move a show, move one that you its fans will follow on whatever night it’s on. For The CW, that show happens to be Supernatural. Of course, we’re sure that it also has to do with the popularity of The Flash, and the hopes that the DC comics-based show will keep people tuned to the network for this “other” undead series.
Also, it probably doesn’t hurt to move Supernatural, given this series probably matches up slightly better with Arrow than The Flash. Only slightly, and I say that because of the how it will surpass all other Wednesday shows when it comes to dominant male eye candy, and tortured souls, both literally and figuratively. A motif that many fans of both shows seem to feed upon.
Here’s the new lineup and the dates on when it will start:
Wednesday, March 11
9:00-10:00pm The 100 (Season Finale)
Tuesday, March 17
8:00-9:00pm The Flash
9:00-10:00pm iZombie (Series Premiere)
Wednesday, March 18
9:00-10:00pm Supernatural (New Night)
Friday, April 10
8:00-8:30pm Cedric’s Barber Battle (Series Premiere)
8:30-9:00pm Whose Line is it Anyway? (Cycle Premiere)
9:00-10:00pm The Messengers (Series Premiere)
Until then, Supernatural, Arrow, The Flash, and The 100 are set to resume next week on their regularly scheduled days and times. The 100 will have their season finale before Supernatural’s move into their spot. What this means for the following season has yet to be announced.
On a side note, if you’re wondering where the heck Beauty and the Beast is on this lineup, it has not been scheduled for the Spring, and may actually return later in the season or during the summer. If the networks two new dramas, iZombie and The Messengers, does really well, then BatB is more likely to air during the summer.
