The CW will be airing season one of ‘Supergirl’ this summer!
The CW announced today that they will be airing the first season of Supergirl, which originally aired on CBS, on Monday nights starting on August 1st, with two episodes airing every week leading up to the October 10th premiere of the new season.
Melissa Benoist heads the show as the title character, who is trying to balance being a full-time assistant to major media-mogul Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), and being a full-time superhero. The cast also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jenna Dewan-Tatum as Lucy Lane (the sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, and Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord.
Season two of Supergirl will bring along some additions to the cast, with former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter playing the President of the United States, and Teen Wolf actor Tyler Hoechlin taking on the role of Supergirl’s famous cousin, Superman.
I know I’ll be re-watching season one when it airs this summer in order to get ready for whatever is in store for season two! The first season of Supergirl surpassed my expectations, and so I cannot wait to see what twists The CW will be bringing to the show, though I am sure Kara can handle whatever problems are thrown her way.
Make sure to catch season one of Supergirl on Mondays on The CW starting August 1st, and don’t miss the premiere of the second season on October 10th on The CW.
