Daniel Radcliffe is jealous of Eddie Redmayne’s Fantastic Beast’ and Where to Find Them costume
Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the franchise of the same name, is jealous of Eddie Redmayne, and not because he has taken over as the face of the Wizarding World. No, he is jealous of his costume.
EW debuted the first look at Fantastic Beasts a little while ago, which included photos of Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski.
Here is what Radcliffe said of the photos, in particular Redmayne’s costume, in an interview with NME:
“Oh f–k you, Eddie, in your brilliant costume. I got jeans and a zip top for 10 years and you’ve got a great coat already?”
But, let’s be honest, is anyone not jealous of the costume? I know I sure am.
Radcliffe also talked about the upcoming Harry Potter sequel play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, mentioning how weird it will be for someone else to play the famous Boy Who Lived. Though he says he is “happy for it to go on without me.”
And as for whether or not he will see the play, Radcliffe is sure he would like to:
“Now that I know [Harry’s in it] I actually really want to see it. It would be
a mental thing to try and see it with lots of very excited Harry Potter fans. But I kind of would like to know what happens now.”
The rest of us will be waiting along with him to see what happens when The Cursed Child opens this summer.
