Music-heavy rave turned deadly SURVIVE THE NIGHT is heading to the big screen!
The writer behind a hit comedy and a music superstar are coming together to adapt Danielle Vega‘s YA horror thriller Survive The Night!
Tracy Oliver, who wrote the screenplay for this summer’s comedy hit Girls Trip and serves as an executive story editor for Survivor’s Remorse, is set to write and direct the project for Warner Bros. Musician Pharrell Williams will produce the film with partner Mimi Valdes under their I Am Other entertainment banner, and we’re guessing he’ll be involved with creating the overall sound of the project, which THR describes as “music-themed.”
The novel follows a group of girls attending Survive The Night, an all-night rave in New York’s abandoned subway tunnels with one rule: No one can leave. Soon, the girls realize they’re being hunted by a murderous psychopath as the party rages around them. With no way out and no idea who the killer is, how will they escape his grasp?
Alloy Entertainment, who teamed up with Warner Bros for the adaptation of Nicola Yoon‘s Everything, Everything, will also produce.
Danielle Vega and Penguin Random House released the novel in 2015. Want to get the scoop? The ebook is only $4.99 on Amazon!
