Director David Yates has revealed that he’ll be bringing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to Comic-Con!

David Yates, the man who directed the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Harry Potter films, has confirmed that the next great venture in the wizarding world, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will be coming to San Diego Comic-Con next month!

“It’s very exciting and I’m editing it at the moment and it’s coming together really well. We’re going to take a few clips to Comic-Con very shortly and we’re working on the second one as well.” – David Yates

fantasticbeastsposterWell, Yates is not the only one excited.  Comic-Con attendees had been wanting an official Harry Potter panel for the years that they’d been filming, to no avail.  But being that the cast and crew were filming all year around apparently, it wasn’t possible.  Only Tom Felton graced fans with his presence on the year before the final films were out, and only for a few minutes.

But now, it seems the WB was kind enough to include them in the panel, with clips! No announcement has been made as to whether David will be accompanied by any of the cast of the film, which includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, and Ron Perlman, but it’s likely at least some of them will appear.

The WB panel is looking like the one to not miss this year, what with Suicide Squad, King Kong: Skull Island, and The LEGO Movie 2 included.  We have yet to confirm time or length of the panel as schedules aren’t released until about 2 weeks prior to the start of Comic-Con.

San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 21st through 24th, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 20th.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters November 18, 2016. .
