Watch out, Arrow. You’ve got new competition in Connor Hawke!
Oliver Queen isn’t the only archer who will be making a splash in DC Comics television. Connor Hawke is on the way to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow!
After a casting call went out for “an African-American or biracial male who decides to put on the uniform of a missing hero who once stood for justice and hope”, ComicBook.com was able to confirm with Warner Bros that the character in question is indeed Connor Hawke. However, the character won’t have the same backstory that DC fans may know.
In the comic book world. Connor Hawke is the son of Oliver Queen and his college girlfriend, Sandra Hawke, who is African-American and Korean. In fact, Connor is known as Green Arrow in some incarnations, but Warner Bros has confirmed that this backstory will NOT be the case for the television character, as the timeline and plot just wouldn’t add up. Still, Connor is a skilled archer and martial artist who will easily be a great team-up partner for The Green Arrow… or give him a run for his money!
An actor has not yet been cast in the role.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is expected to hit The CW in January 2016.
