THE DEAD GIRLS DETECTIVE AGENCY Adaptation Hits Snapchat

Snapchat just launched an original series based on a darkly humorous YA novel!

As Snapchat looks for new ways to expand their social media brand, the company is getting in on the YA adaptation game!

Snap Originals, in cooperation with HarperCollins, is slowly unleashing their take on Suzy Cox’s 2012 YA novel The Dead Girls Detective Agency. The story follows Charlotte (Gia Mantegna), who wakes up in a strange place only to discover that she’s dead and stuck in purgatory. With the help of Nancy (Vanessa Marano) and Lorna (Aparna Brielle), Charlotte will have to figure out who killed her in order to move on. It’s quirky fun all around!

Check out the trailer:

Given that Snapchat’s whole ethos is to keep things short and sweet, each episode is about 5 minutes long. New episodes will be released daily on the Discover page in the Snapchat app.

Epic Reads shared the news along with a few behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s filming. Take a look!

You can check out The Dead Girls Detective Agency on Snapchat now!

Suzy Cox’s 2012 novel is available via Amazon.

Snapchat has weaved so many commercials through each episode that it is hard to tell if there is more content or more advertising by the time you’ve finished watching. This is really horrible because the writing, acting, and production are all exceptional. Spanchat needs to figure out a new format to sell to its advertisers or they wont keep viewers very long. Its just really really bad what they have done to desroy this content. The production people have the attention span of gnat.

I found out that there are only 8 episodes in season 1 and it is TBD when season 2 will come out

Me and my daughter have loved watching this, can you please tell me why theres no more episodes after 8?

how can I watch the whole series 1 episodes on laptop? is there any streaming platform that I can pay to watch it?

Is there gonna be more episodes on season 2 because episode 7 left me feeling like there was but hasn’t been any in a while
