MAZE RUNNER Actor Talks Dylan O’Brien’s Recovery, Production Return Date

While promoting his new film The Jungle Book, in which he voices Mowgli’s wolf-father Akela, Giancarlo Esposito took a moment to talk about another major project of his: The Maze Runner series.

In particular, he gave fans an update on ailing star Dylan O’Brien, who was injured on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure on March 17th.

“He’s healing very well,” Esposito told E! News. “He got his bell rung. I would imagine many who witnessed it thought that was it… [But] he’s a survivor. The one good thing about Dylan that I think is going to help him get back on schedule with us very soon is he has a great attitude.”

How soon will O’Brien be back on schedule? According to Giancarlo Esposito, filming is set to resume in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 15th, just under two months after it halted.

The exact circumstances and extent of O’Brien’s injuries were never made public, but sources reported that the actor was run over by a car on set and suffered multiple broken bones.
