THE DEFENDERS Fight New Villain, Each Other In Comic-Con Trailer

The battle against The Hand comes to a head and Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra is introduced in new THE DEFENDERS trailer!

“The thing about war is it only works if both sides believe they’re the good guys,” Sigourney Weaver‘s mysterious antagonist Alexandra says in the first moments of The Defenders Comic-Con trailer. But Marvel’s good guys– Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones)– seem a little unsure about going to war in the first place.

After tracking down the same lead at the same time, the four team-up for a fight against Alexandra’s goons. It soon becomes clear that Alexandra is somehow connected to The Hand and the group has been trying to shut down the four heroes by any means necessary, including attacking their friends and family. While Danny Rand and Matt Murdock seem to take this as a joint call-to-arms, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage prefer to work alone, thank you very much. The group pushes and pulls at each other, trying to do what’s right despite their personal feelings. Meanwhile, we’re getting glimpses of favorite secondary characters from all four shows including Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), and of course, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson).

Unlike many other San Diego Comic-Con properties, we won’t have to wait too long for this one. The Defenders hits Netflix in less than a month on August 18, 2017.

Blind ninja. Smart-ass detective. Bulletproof ex-con. Kung Fu billionaire. Marvel’s The Defenders centers on four outsider heroes that have to put aside their personal issues and come together when a villainous sect threatens to destroy New York City as we know it.
