Diego Luna Nabs Lead Male Role In STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

Diego Luna joins Felicity Jones in the franchise spin-off STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE!

Actor Diego Luna, best known for his roles in ELYSIUM, MILK, and Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN, is the latest star to join the STAR WARS universe. Luna will star alongside Felicity Jones (THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING). The exact details of his character have not been revealed yet, but the character will allegedly be a pilot.

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE will tell the story of regular civilians “that don’t have magic powers, that have to bring hope to the galaxy”, according to director Gareth Edwards. This “dirty dozen” of the franchise form the early stages of the rebel alliance against the Empire just before the start of STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE.

Luna has yet to comment on the casting news.

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
