Disney Announces Release Dates for STAR WARS, ARTEMIS FOWL and More

Disney has announced a slew of new release dates, including an announcement of many more STAR WARS movies to come.

In the years after The Rise of Skywalker, a trio of Star Wars movies will hit theaters beginning on December 22, 2022. The next two movies in the trio will drop December 20, 2024 and December 18, 2026. This series is untitled.

Disney has also revealed that the adaptation of Artemis Fowl will be pushed back from its August 9, 2019 date to May 29, 2020. Similarly, Fox’s Nimona was pushed back a year, moving from February 14, 2020 to March 5, 2021.

As for Marvel, Fox’s X-Men film The New Mutants has been pushed back to April 3, 2020.

Studio president of theatrical distribution Cathleen Taff said:

“With a strong summer already in place, we are eager to carry that momentum forward over the coming years thanks to a creative wellspring of bold and imaginative stories coming from our world-class studios — including several new chapters of two revered franchises, ‘Avatar’ and ‘Star Wars.’”
