The Disney Channel has announced today that a Tangled animated series based on the 2010 film of the same name is in the works! Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will again voice the characters of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. The show will be produced by Chris Sonnenburg and Shane Prigmore and feature music and lyrics from Alan Menken and Glenn Slater.
The series will be set between the events from the movie and the animated short, Tangled Ever After and will follow Rapunzel as she acquaints herself with her parents and her kingdom while appreciating she still has much to learn before accepting her royal destiny. She puts her marriage on hold to seek out adventures with Flynn, her chameleon friend Pascal, Maximus the horse, the Snuggly Duckling pub thugs, and a new character Cassandra who is Rapunzel’s handmaiden and confidant.
